The International LIDAR Mapping Forum (ILMF) Conference 2009 will be held from Monday, Jan. 26 through Wednesday, Jan. 28th in New Orleans. Last year's event saw record growth in attendance from both delegates and visitors; final figures show that more than 580 attendees registered from 32 countries, up from approximately 250 attendees the year before, according to the conference organizers.
The Mapping Forum focuses on the commercial and technical issues facing the industry. The technical conference specifically concentrates on papers and work-in progress reports on all aspects of airborne and bathymetry LIDAR, with a particular emphasis on papers that address the key commercial and technical issues facing the industry. Alongside the conference is an exhibition consisting of LIDAR system and component manufacturers, operators, and software companies.
For those that are new to the LIDAR business, the conference also offers an entry-level workshop series designed to educate potential new customers and end-users on the applications and benefits of LIDAR technology.
